Modeling diffusive phase transformation and fracture in viscoplastic materials

چکیده
In recent years, the phase-field method has attracted a lot of attention and emerged as one most efficient tools for modeling fracture phase transformation. The is based on regularization discontinuities which allows resolution complex problems using classical numerical methods. A multiphase-field model essential describing crack propagation in non-static heterogeneous materials still missing. this work, we fill gap by combining approach Griffith’s theory with diffusive transformation viscoplastic materials. Several benchmark examples increasing complexity demonstrate, effect viscoplasticity behavior critical loading, energy density until failure topology. We show that activity at tip mitigates pre-existing defects mechanical strength. case, it shown introduces an intermediate response between reference behavior, does not take into consideration transformation-induced residual stresses, elastic integrates these stresses taking account only elasticity. interaction heterogeneities topology also highlighted.

Phase Field Modeling of Fracture and Composite Materials
The phase field method is a very powerful numerical method to solve moving boundary problems. Here we demonstrate how it can be applied to various processes involving sound propagation and fracture. This approach is related to a new theory of fracture which describes in particular the fast growth of cracks. We study the propagation of elastic waves, the determination of stress intensity factors...

Particle modeling of dynamic fragmentation—II: Fracture in single- and multi-phase materials
The second paper of this series adopts particle modeling (PM) to simulation of dynamic fracture phenomena in homogeneous and heterogeneous materials, such as encountered in comminution and blasting processes in mining industry. As the basis for such simulations, we first develop a new method to prevent particles from topologically interpenetrating themselves within the material domain, when act...
متن کاملPhase-field modeling and simulation of fracture in brittle materials with strongly anisotropic surface energy
Crack propagation in brittle materials with anisotropic surface energy is important in applications involving single crystals, extruded polymers, or geological and organic materials. Furthermore, when this anisotropy is strong, the phenomenology of crack propagation becomes very rich, with forbidden crack propagation directions or complex sawtooth crack patterns. This problem interrogates funda...
متن کاملThe Eshelby Problem for Elastic Viscoplastic Materials
Micro-macro schemes contain two important steps. First, the localization process must link the fields inside the inclusion to those applied in the infinite matrix. Secondly, an averaging process is used to derive the macroscopic behavior. For elastic viscoplastic materials, there is no exact solution for the first step. In this work, we adopt the interaction law proposed in [2]. By comparison w...
